What is available?
To balance your academic programme it is important to interact with your environment. To this extent Bournemouth has a lot to offer outside of school.

Located on the South Coast, Bournemouth boasts some of the best beaches in the UK and is close to The New Forest and Purbecks, yet only 100 minutes from London by train. Bournemouth also has many restaurants, bars, cinemas, theatres, museums, nightclubs and shops for you to enjoy.

What can I do after class?

Activities are organised weekly and shown on the school social activities board. These include weekend guided tours to different places of interest in the UK or half-day trips to local tourist spots, such as the famous Stonehenge and Corfe Castle which are always popular. Other activities include international school parties, as well as cinema and museum trips.

What sports can I do?

Capital School of English encourages you to take part in a range of sporting activities including football, volleyball and tennis. There are also sporting activities organised with other schools. Other sports, such as golf, sailing, ten-pin bowling and horse-riding can be arranged on request. There is also a gym and swimming pool within a 10 minute walk of the school.

What can I do at weekends?

There are day trips on offer most weekends - these include visits to famous tourist destinations, such as London, Bath, Cambridge, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Warwick Castle, the Dorset Coast and West End Theatre breaks.
Longer breaks to Scotland and Ireland are planned for 2006.
For organised school trips, either full or half day or longer a fee will apply.

Independent Travel
Whilst in the UK why not take advantage of Bournemouth’s travel links.

London is less than two hours by train from Bournemouth. The train station is only minutes from the School and there are fast trains every hour. We can give you help and advice on how to explore and enjoy one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
The Travel Interchange, next to the station, also has coaches to London and other key destinations in the UK.

Bournemouth Airport is also a gateway to Ireland, Scotland, Spain, France, Croatia and Germany through the low cost airlines Ryanair (www.ryanair.com), Thomsonfly (www.thomsonfly.com) and Easyjet (www.easyjet.com)
