TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

 

Enrolment at Capital School of English is considered to be an agreement when the school has received full payment of all fees and the school has agreed to accept the student. In the interests of all fellow students studying with us, you are respectfully asked to observe the following terms and conditions. If at any time you do not understand please ask your agent or contact a member of staff at the school who will be happy to answer any questions.

 

Enrolment Fees: On application, all students will be charged an enrolment fee that is non-refundable under any circumstances. (Registration Fee £50).

 

Tuition Fees: The total cost of the course fees must be paid in full at least 4 weeks prior to the course commencement date. Payment can be made in the following ways: Bank to Bank Transfer (Bank fees may apply), Credit Card, Sterling Cheques and Cash. Fees and Lessons cannot be transferred under any circumstances.

Note: Visa Nationals will not be refunded any fees once the visa has been granted.

 

Course extension: If students wish to extend their course they must notify the school at least 2 weeks before their current course finishes.

 

Cancellations:

1)       A minimum of 4 weeks notice is required from the school if a student wishes to cancel a course prior to commencement in order for a refund to be made.

2)       If a student decides to cancel a course within 4 weeks prior to commencement a refund of 50% (Tuition and accommodation fees) will be made.

3)       If a student wishes to cancel their course after commencement date no refund will be made.

4)       If a student visa application is rejected a refund will be made under the following conditions: Return of the original letter of acceptance (required by all applicants) and a Copy of the visa rejection letter. The school must be informed at least 2 weeks before course commencement.

Important Note:

1. Only under special circumstances will a refund be made and this is at the PrincipalÕs discretion.

2. Any refunds will be paid after the registration fees have been deducted.

3. Any extra costs incurred eg: money transfers, requests for bank drafts or extraordinary payments will be passed onto the student or their representative.

 

Course Details: Capital School of English reserves the right to change course arrangements and fees. This includes: times and syllabuses. Please note that all course books are loaned and are not included in the tuition fees. Any books damaged by a student will have to be paid for in full.

 

Attendance: Students must attend all lessons on time and are not allowed to be absent unless otherwise permitted by the Principal. Absence due to sickness must be covered by a doctorÕs certificate for the whole period.  The school must be informed immediately of all illnesses regardless of the symptoms.

 

No Diploma or StudentÕs End of Course Report will be given if the studentÕs attendance is less than 80%.

 

Expulsion: In cases where a student has been found either to have acted illegally or operated outside of the rules and regulations of the school and or their Visa requirements, Capital School of English reserves the right to expel a student with loss of all fees and accommodation.

 

Holiday Entitlement: Holidays can be taken during certain courses. If students inform the school of a pre-arranged holiday at least 4 weeks prior to course commencement the school will extend a students course for that period of time.  (You must inform reception).

Entitlement period:  Less than 3 months:  No holiday.

                                   4-6 months: 1 WEEK.

                                   7-9 months: 2 WEEKS.

                                   9 months or more: 3 WEEKS.

Important Note: No refund or extra weekÕs tuition will be given for public holidays or the 3 weeks at Christmas when the school is closed.

Students must inform the reception of any planned holidays in order to sign a disclaimer covering the period of absence.  No refund will be issued if a student wishes to finish a course early. (Only under special circumstances will refunds be considered and will be at the Principals discretion).

 

Insurance: We recommend that students take out their own fully comprehensive insurance for the whole duration of their stay. Capital School of English will be happy to recommend reputable insurance cover if a student wishes.

 

Accommodation: This is regulated by Capital School of English and is checked and assessed regularly. Accommodation is normally reserved from 12:00 noon Saturday to 12 noon the following Saturday. Students are booked on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday).  The school holds no responsibility for students arriving early or late. Extra nights will be charged  pro-rata. Dietary, medical needs and interests should be highlighted  to the school in advance of arrival when completing the enrolment form. Students are reminded that they are guests and should respect the rules and decisions of the host families. If a student wishes to change their host family accommodation this can only be arranged for justifiable reasons and an administration charge of
£50.00 will be made.  One week¹s notice from a Saturday must be given or one week¹s payment in lieu.

Note: Capital School of English IS NOT responsible for any additional costs incurred by a student during their stay, these must be paid direct to the host family before leaving.

Accommodation organised through Capital School of English can only be cancelled with at least one-weeksÕ notice by either party.

 

Liability: Capital School of English accepts no liability for any loss or misadventure you may suffer in the school, accommodation or elsewhere.

All students will be given a copy of the student information sheet during induction outlining in detail the rules and regulations governing staying with a host family and studying at the Capital School of English. This must be signed during the induction.

 

By submitting this form it is understood that you have read and accept the terms and conditions you will be required to sign this form when first attend the school.
