Capital Summer School
If you are looking for a challenging yet rewarding way to spend your summer and can deliver fun and creative EFL lessons to a high professional standard or dedicated and professional pastoral care, we are now recruiting for the following positions:
Teacher (Young Learners)
We need suitably qualified and experienced TEFL and/or PGCE teachers, preferably with a subject specialism in Art, Drama, Media Studies or D and T, who can teach Young Learners (12-16) at our Summer Campus in Rothesay Road, Bournemouth.
Contracts are from 2-8 weeks starting June 24th/July 1st/July 8th or July 15th 2013. You will teach Monday to Friday morning classes (3 hours), three afternoons subject specialism activities per week, one evening activity and supervisory hall and lunch duties as allocated plus attendance at weekly staff meetings and professional development workshops.
Teacher (Adults)
Contracts are for 2 -8 weeks starting July 1st, July 8th or July 15th 2013.
- Maintenance of discipline, safety and welfare of the students
- Planning and delivery of fun, communicative and highly professional EFL lessons using a core syllabus for YLs and course books for adults
- Attendance at meetings and workshops
- Maintaining daily and weekly plans, student reports, attendance records etc.
Essential:
- Degree + CELTA or Trinity TESOL certificate (TEFLI)
- Eligibility to work in UK
- Enhanced CRB (you apply at Civil and Corporate online)
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience with young Learners/Adults
- PGCE/ QTS
- Experience teaching with multilingual groups
- Experience of continuous enrolment
- Experience of working in a high pressured but rewarding environment
Remuneration: Dependent on experience from £300 to £350 per week. Residential packages also available.

Residential Accommodation Officers
- Maintaining student discipline and welfare
- Organising the arrival and departure of students
- Liaising with maintenance and cleaning staff
- Liaising with management to ensure a high level of student service and ensuring the accommodation is maintained to a high standard
- Dealing with student enquiries and providing suitable support and guidance for any accommodation related issues
- Educated to degree level or holding equivalent experience/qualifications
- Enhanced CRB
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Willing to be on call out of office hours
Desirable:
- Experience in managing boarding or residential accommodation or similar
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Genuine commitment to provide for the welfare and support of students.
- Insight into issues facing international students in the UK.
- High level of organisational and administrative ability with an attention to detail
- Ability to use initiative and exercise appropriate judgement to different circumstances
